Mary, I just saw the obituary and am so sorry to hear Sam passed. He worked in our department at what is now Hanes Brands. He was a joy to work with, always smiling, and always spoke highly of you and the family. He was a good man. My deepest condolences, and prayers for you and your family.

The photo above typifies the kind of person Sam was. He was always so funny and I would always search him out at any K of C events because I knew a good time would definitely be had. He was one of my father's best friends for nearly 40 years. I also considered him a friend of mine as well. RIP Sam!

That photo says it all. One of the funniest, happy go lucky guys we ever knew. We met Mary and Sam shortly after moving to Winston-Salem and they made us feel right at home always. That was 40 years ago and time has flown by. We had so much fun together watching our children grow up, softball games, activities with the knights, and everything friends do. We moved away and yet Sam and Mary were always there anytime a family celebration or get together was required with our dear friends. Mary, Ann, Patrick, and Shannon, Sam left behind a wonderful legacy of humor, kindness, and love for us all. Rest in peace sweet friend!
