William Handy Obituary

ENNICE - William Ted Handy, 69, of Ennice passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007, at his home. He was the son of Everette Handy. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Williams Handy of the home; two sons, Dr. Mark Handy and Mitchell Allen Handy, both of the home; his granddaughter, Baylie Handy of the home; and mother-in-law Reba Sue Williams of Sparta. The body is at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence, Va. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Little Pine Church of Brethren, with Minister Russ Richardson officiating. Interment in the church cemetery will follow. Military rites will be conducted at graveside by Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Little Pine Church of Brethren, c/o Bobby Gillispie, Ennice, NC 28623; or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105-1942. Arrangements by Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, Va.
