Wilson L. Berger

GREENSBORO - Mr. Wilson L. Berger, 80, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Mr. Berger's funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Forbis and Dick North Elm Chapel with the Rev. Riddick Weber officiating. A graveside service will be held at noon Friday at Forsyth Memorial Park. A native of Winston-Salem, Mr. Berger was retired from Lucent Technologies after 38 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Hilda Simmons Berger, of the home; a son, Michael L. Berger and his wife, Linda, of Woodbridge, Va.; a daughter, Martye Clendenin and her husband, Mitch, of Julian; two granddaughters, Megan and Whittney Clendenin, of Julian; a grandson, Rob Berger and his wife, Anson, of Florence, S.C.; and brothers Glenn A. Berger and his wife, Mary, of High Point and Charles D. Berger and his wife, Rosalind, of Surprise, Ariz. Memorials may be made to either the American Heart Association, 202 Centreport Drive, Suite 100, Greensboro, NC 27407 or the American Diabetes Association, 1207 W. Friendly Ave., Greensboro, NC 27403. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Thursday evening at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street.
