FALL RIVER - Carla Rae (Trotz) Borde, age 89, died on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Prairie Ridge Health in Columbus. She was born on August 3, 1934 to Alfred and Verona (Affelt) Trotz and was baptized in Friesland, WI. At age 11 she moved to Brookfield, WI. She attended Waukesha High School and graduated in 1952.
She was employed at General Electric in West Allis. On September 25, 1954 she married Robert Larson in Brookfield, WI. In 1963 they moved to Fall River, WI. Carla was a stay at-home-mom and raised their five children. After the children were grown, she was employed at Pick 'N Save and Taco Bell in Columbus. She married Russ Borde on August 3, 1996 in Fall River after her husband Robert's passing in 1992.
Carla loved knitting, quilting, crafting and gardening. Later in life she attended many craft fairs with her hand-crafted items. She also had a love for anything with to do with cardinals!
Survivors include her five children: Mary (Steve) Kennedy, Thomas (Laure) Larson, Timothy Larson, Patricia (Ronald) Lesteberg, Cheryl (William) Hays; grandchildren: Matt (Jocelyn) Kennedy, Mike (Akiko) Kennedy, Rachell (Jeremy) Gerten, Lindsay (Doug) Pedersen, Morgan Lesteberg, Amanda (Casey) Ehlers, Stephanie Ladwig, Heidi (Anderson) Posso, Dawn (Jacob) Dillman; great-grandchildren: Rayland, Flint, and Dorothy Kennedy, Julia Kennedy, Azalia and Dastan Dillman, Logan Posso, Benjamin Pedersen; nephew and nieces: Dan (Theresa) Trotz, Julie Trotz, Barb Trotz; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert in 1992, infant grandson, Thomas Lesteberg in 1992, and husband, Russ in 2000.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 P to 7:00 PM on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Jensen Funeral & Cremation in Columbus. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Se. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Fall River. Rev. Bill Runke will officiate. Interment will be in St. Stephen Cemetery - Town of Fountian Prairie.
Memorials may be directed to St. Stephen Church or the charity of one's choice.
