December 11, 1943 - March 18, 2025
Born December 11th 1943 to Margaret V. McNair & Dale S. Young at St. Claire Hospital in Monroe WI. Paul lived in rural Brodhead on The Family Century Farm. Paul attended Atwood one room school for 7 ½ years. The family then moved to Browntown where he attended the Browntown Two room school. Paul Graduated from Monroe Senior high school in 1962. He graduated from UW-Platteville in 1967 with a major in chemistry. Paul then joined the Olin Corp. at the Badger Army Ammunition Plant, where he spent most of his working career. Paul took early retirement in 1999. Paul joined the Badger Steam & Gas Engine Club in 1969 and has been an active member ever since. Paul was instrumental in starting the stationary steam engine division of the club, and was one of the persons who bought land so that the club could have its own show grounds. Paul was also on the Al. Ringling Theatre board for 6 years, and has been a volunteer for the Sauk County Historical Society for many years. Paul is survived by older brother Bruce and younger sister Lauren. He is also survived by nephews Brian, Bradley and niece Denise; great nephews and nieces Charles, Sidney, Max and harper. Paul also had an adopted family of Damian Newlon, Natalia Zagorodnikova. As well as granddaughter Anastasia Eisen and her husband Heath Eisen. Per his request no services are to be held.

I did not know Paul as long as some at Badger Steam @Gas but he will always be remembered as a kind hard working friend. Rest in peace.

Paul was a mentor and friend to many of us in the old iron hobby and he will be missed. Thanks for all the adventures and memories. You will be missed.

Paul and our mom (Norma Clavadatscher) worked together at Badger Ordinance and then Paul and our Dad (Wally Clavadatscher) worked on many jobs at the Badger Steam and Gas shows. Paul was a good friend to them, stopping in to see them frequently, when they were in assisted living. He was a good man!
