Robert Max Biersach
March 2, 1931 - July 26, 2024
COLUMBUS - Robert Max Biersach, age 93, of Columbus, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2024 at home with his wife by his side.
Bob was born on March 2, 1931 to Robert Bassett and Evelyn (Watters) Biersach. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, Mike and Celia "Bushie" Watters. He graduated from Fall River High School in 1950.
Bob enlisted in the United Sates Air Force and served during the Korean conflict.
He married Audrey Pritchard on September 12, 1959 at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Lost Lake. Together they raised four children.
Bob worked in recreation for the State of Wisconsin at Mendota State Hospital. He managed and owned Centennial Lanes in Columbus, during which time he bowled a perfect 300 game. He then worked at and retired from Columbus Products.
Bob was an avid sports fan, enjoying the Badgers, Green Bay Packers, and of course his St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed golfing (had a hole in one at Columbus Country Club), bowling, and hickory nutting, and most of all Bob and Audrey's annual fishing trips to Canada. They also traveled to Alaska and visited most of the lower 48 states in their travels.
His wit and sense of humor were enjoyed and will be remembered by all who knew him, especially his grandchildren!!
Bob is survived by his loving wife, of almost 65 years, Audrey; daughters: Patti (Paul) Adams, Pennae (Mark Meyer) and Bonnie (Scott) Hendricks; grandchildren: Erin (Bryce) Hargrove, Cailin (Phil) Ashfield, Riley (Megan) Adams, Braden (Emma) Adams, Andja (Goran) Vukovic, BJ (Chelsey) Biersach, Kristina Biersach, Noah Hendricks, Max Hendricks and Sam Hendricks; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kathleen Wedel; and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his only son, Robert Michael "Bobby", his sister, Nancy Lee, his parents and grandparents.
A Funeral Mass was held at St. Jerome Catholic Church on Saturday, August 17, 2024 with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, and mass following at 11:00 AM. Inurnment was at Hillside Cemetery following mass.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Hillside Hospice and to Dr. Rolf for their compassionate care. We are also grateful for the thoughtfulness, phone calls, prayers, and support of family and friends.
Memorials may be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church or a charity of one's choice.
