Alice Smith Obituary
Onalaska - Alice A. Smith, 92, of Onalaska passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Onalaska Care Center. She was born on a farm in Outagamie County, Wisconsin on February 3, 1928 to Anton and Susan (Skarzynski) Rozmiarek. On August 3, 1953 Alice married Robert Smith and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2007.
In the early 50's, Alice began her teaching career in Elmwood, WI. When Pat was born she set aside her teaching career to raise their family. Alice returned to teaching at Assumption High School and Wisconsin Rapids Tech College. Alice was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed by many.
Alice is survived by a daughter, Judith Seden of Iowa City, IA; two sons, Patrick (Joan) Smith of Holmen, WI and Michael (Edith) Smith of Monument, CO; six grandchildren, Nathan (Maggie) Smith of La Crescent, MN, Amy (Jacob) Hanson of Holmen, Justin Edl of Corpus Christi, TX, Matthew Edl of Cedar Rapids, IA, Tyler (Dan Moes) Schwaegler of Grand Forks, ND, and Ashley Schwaegler of Brookfield, WI; four great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Marriner, and Tatum Smith and Hayden Hanson; three sisters, Cecilia Rozmiarek of Pulaski, WI, Janice (LeRoy) Majeski of Shanwano, WI, and Theresa Munger of Pulaski, WI.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ann Schwaegler; and brothers, Carl and Robert Rozmiarek.
A private Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Calvary Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids.
The family would like to thank the Onalaska Care Center for the love and compassion that was given to Alice through the years.
Memorials may be given to Onalaska Care Care to benefit resident programs and/or staffing needs or Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids.

I remember going to Business Professionals of America up in Green Bay and she got so mad at me because I wasn’t in my room when she checked on me and she was going to call the school and I was going to get in trouble. Oops
She was also my Mock trial advisor and started a lifelong love of law for me that has now passed on to my daughter.

I remember Mrs. Smith fondly from Typing Class and Mock Trial at Assumption. She was firm, but kind and always treated everyone fairly. My condolences to the family. She was a gem. May God grant her eternal rest.

Mrs. Smith was one of my favorite high school teachers. From typing...yes, we used typewriters then, to accounting...I felt I had the BEST teacher ever! I was so well prepared for college because of her talent for teaching. Always a huge smile and obvious care for her students, she touched my life forever. Rest in Peace Mrs. Smith, thank you and may you watch over me❤
