Glenn Kauffman Obituary

Glenn "Hippie" Allen Kauffman, 63, of West Lafayette, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025 at his residence. He was born on March 27, 1962 in Lafayette to the late Floyd Melvin "Pete" Kauffman and Sandra (Underhill) Gross. Glenn was a graduate of William Henry Harrison High School. He spent nearly seven years living in Colorado, and when he came back to Lafayette, worked in General Maintenance for D.T. Kirby's Restaurant for over 12 years until he was forced to retire due to his health. He loved to play his guitar, and often performed during open mic nights at Digby's Pub and Patio. He was also a huge "Deadhead" and attended hundreds of Grateful Dead concerts, only having to pay for a ticket one time because he would be gifted tickets for being a designated driver. Glenn is survived by his siblings, Terry Kauffman, Bette (Terry) Batta, Gary Kauffman, Hugh (Brenda) Kauffman, and Julia (Fabian Carroll) Kauffman; and his dog, Pearly Baker. He also leaves several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews to cherish his memory. In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles. There will be a Visitation for Glenn held at Hippensteel Funeral Home on August 1, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. Please share memories and condolences online at www.hippensteelfuneralservice.com
