Barbara Jo Smith, age 77, of Martinsville, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was born July 24, 1944 in Somerset, Ky., daughter of the late Henry Hines and Irene Warren Hines.
She was a member of Martinsville United Methodist Church, was an avid bowler, and had retired from the Irwin Auger Bit Company after 28 years of service.
Surviving are her husband, Willard C. Smith, whom she married August 25, 1962; three sons, Timothy C. (Patty) Smith, Anthony L. (Carolyn) Smith, and Stacy B. Smith; six grandchildren, Ashley Smith Sollars, Austin Smith, Joshua Smith, Jessica Smith Carter, Bradley Smith, and Devon Smith. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Anthony Carter, London Smith and Leo Smith; as well as two brothers, Arvil Hines and Ricky Hines.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by an infant son, Roy Ellis Smith; and a brother, Ancil Hines.
Services will be held at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Friday, October 8 with Pastor Jonathan Beck officiating. Interment will follow in the Martinsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Friends will be received at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7.
