John R. Fenwick, 79, of Centerville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014.
John was a registered pharmacist and worked for more than 36 years in retail pharmacy, spending his final working years with Rite Aid. He received a B.S. in chemistry from Wilmington College and a second B.S. in pharmacy from Ohio Northern University.
John enjoyed being outdoors, reading about the Civil War, and spending time with his family and church friends. He was a member of the Centerville United Methodist Church Men's Study Group and was active in many other groups within the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Mary Fenwick.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Trudy Fenwick; a son, Gregory Fenwick and girlfriend Tracy Nelson of San Francisco, Calif.; a sister, Jane Allemang of Wilmington; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Margot and Fred Borst of Springboro; nephews, Kirk (Leigh Ann) Allemang of Mowrystown, Scott (Michelle) Allemang of Wilmington, Michael (Ashley) Borst of Fairhope, Ala., and Douglas Borst of Clearwater, Fla.; nieces, Jill Allemang of Zurich, Switzerland, and Amy (Tom) Garringer of Springboro; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Centerville United Methodist Church, 63 E. Franklin St. in Centerville.
The funeral service will follow the visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday. The interment will be in the Centerville Cemetery.
