. Mainelli Obituary

Albert J. Mainelli, Esq.

08/30/1941 - 05/11/2024

LINCOLN - Albert J. Mainelli, Esq. of Lincoln and Matunuck, RI died on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the age of 82 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Albert J. Mainelli Sr. and Mary Bertone Mainelli. Albert's life was marked by a deep commitment to service, a passion for law, and an unwavering love for his family and friends.

Albert was a graduate of La Salle Academy, Providence College, and the College of William & Mary, where he received his law degree. He was a proud military veteran, serving with distinction as a Captain in the U.S. Army and as Staff Judge Advocate during the Vietnam War, earning many commendation medals. He was a successful attorney as a partner at Kirshenbaum & Kirshenbaum practicing family law for most of his long and distinguished career, impacting countless families with his integrity and compassion.

Beyond his professional achievements, Albert's vibrant personality was evident in his love for meeting new people and chatting with friends, often stopping to socialize with both. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, boating in Point Judith, wandering flea markets seeking odds and ends to add to his eclectic collection, and taking photos at any and every event. Albert loved traveling with his family, particularly to Aruba, and his joy multiplied when his grandchildren began accompanying him. They fondly recall his weekly visits, where they indulged in their shared love for pizza and sweets, while celebrating everyday academic and athletic achievements together. Albert's warmth, kindness, generosity, and sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him, leaving an indelible mark. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.

He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Madelyn Coleman Mainelli. He also leaves his daughters, Dana Marcelonis and her husband Joseph of Canton, MA, Amy Burke and her husband David of Weymouth, MA, and his four grandchildren, Garrett, Abigail, Parker and Will. Albert is also survived by his brother Leo Mainelli and his wife Lita, his sister Nancy Triantafellow and her husband Harry, his sister-in-law Jill Mainelli, his many nieces and nephews, and his lifelong friend who is family, Jack Tavone. He was predeceased by brothers Michael Mainelli and Edward Mainelli. His family extends special thanks to Mardia, Jeff, and Maria for providing such tender loving care to Albert for the past several years.

A Memorial Mass for Albert will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 10 am in St. Romuald Chapel, 61 Atlantic Ave., Matunuck. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, May 19th from 4-7 pm in the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Burial will be private.
