Aline Machala Obituary

PAWTUCKET - Called by our Lord the Shepherd on Sunday, April 24, 2016.

Aline displayed absolute devotion to her faith, family, and community at Little Sisters of the Poor. She touched the hearts and minds of all with her tireless energy and dynamic personality.

Aline was the loving mother of daughter Donna; son Robert and his wife, Kathy; daughter Lori and her husband, Al Loureiro; proud grandmother of Kyle, Jodi, Christopher, Nicholas, Stephanie and Eric.

Born on May 2, 1934, she is survived by her sisters Jeannette, Marcella, Annette, and Bernadette and her brother Rene. She was predeceased by her brother Richard and sister Yvette as well as the daughter of the late William and Imelda (Rousseau) Betty.
Volunteer assistant for many causes at Our Lady of Consolation Parish in Pawtucket, the R.I. Food Bank and Little Sisters of the Poor Jeanne Jugan Residence. She retired in 1996 from Texas Instruments and also was a member of the cafeteria staff at LaSalle Academy. She dedicated herself to helping others with her wisdom, her kindness and her vision.

Aline was never bashful in saluting her friends by raising a glass of sangria or sipping on a margarita. No one who met Aline was untouched by her kindness, her devotion, her generosity and humanity.

A memorial mass celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Little Sisters of the Poor Jeanne Jugan Chapel, 964 Main St., Pawtucket, R.I. Donations and memorial gifts in memory of Aline may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor at the Jeanne Jugan Residence.
