Angelo Risotti Obituary

BELLINGHAM MA - Angelo J. Risotti, Jr., 72, of Bellingham, MA passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Landmark Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He is the beloved husband for 27 years of Theresa L. (Richard) Risotti. Born on August 25, 1945, he is the son of the late Angelo J. and Dorothy (Lane) Risotti, Sr. He is the loving father of Justine L. Jacome and her husband, David of Blackstone, MA, and Jason E. Risotti and his husband, Ronnie Russell of Framingham, MA. He leaves his cherished grandson Jack D. Jacome of Blackstone, MA. He is the brother of Arthur Risotti of Florida, Paul Risotti and his wife, Pam of Attleboro, MA, and George Risotti and his wife, Kathy of Mansfield, MA. He also leaves his many Richard family brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews mostly from the Leominster, MA area.
A resident of Bellingham, formerly of Foxboro, Angelo was a Master Carpenter & General Contractor who owned and operated R&S Construction and AJR Construction. His second job, which he loved, was bartending at Pete's Blue Bird Restaurant in Bellingham for the past 30 years, where he made many lifelong friendships. He was a member of the VFW Post 7272 in Bellingham and the Franklin Elks Lodge. Angelo had played Softball most of his life and was able to sponsor a Ladies Team for several years as well.
Angelo was a United States Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran attaining the rank of Sergeant. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He served two tours in Vietnam and was extremely proud to be a Marine and Vietnam Veteran. It didn't matter the occasion, you would always find him wearing a Vietnam Veteran baseball cap.
Angie and Terry were a long time love story and marriage that people admired. They were that couple that spent all their free time enjoying activities together. Golf, gambling and cards were among their favorites. Angie was always known for bringing home single yellow roses for his honey. He never missed wishing her Happy Anniversary every 19th of the month for 27 years.
Angelo had recently recovered from a below the knee amputation and was not letting his medical issues get it the way of his life. He told all the doctors he had three goals – walk, golf and dance with his wife. He accomplished all of them with pride within a year. His final wish came true this past summer as he was able to hit the links with his wife, Terry and friends. Balancing on one leg, he still had the straightest shot his brother-in-law had ever seen. Pure perseverance.
As a dad, Angie was amazing. He was the type of father who led by example and was never shy to show his love and support. Little things like making fried dough or turkey dinners to playing Mexican dominoes and taking trips together, he truly loved spending time with his kids.
He adored his grandson Jack and had created a bond with him that will forever be cherished. We are all better for having him in our lives. His positivity was contagious. He was quick with a joke and always had a smile. He was devoted to his family and friends and will be forever missed by so many.
Angelo, or Angie as his friends called him, was a devoted Oakland Raiders fan, organized yearly group trips to Las Vegas and had been known to frequent Twin River Casino. He loved dogs, especially his puppy Jax, who he had been known to spoil quite a bit. Jax was always by his side.

Terry, I am so sorry for your loss. I just heard about it today. I just saw Angie 2 weeks ago at Pete's. He was a good listener and could always make me smile. I used to love sitting at the bar just to hear his jokes and 'wisdom'.
