BELLINGHAM - Barbara L. (York) Provost, 77, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Monday, July 11, 2016 at home with her loving family by her side. She is the beloved wife for 58 years of Robert A. Provost. Born in Milford, MA on May 8, 1939, she is the daughter of the late George and Inez (Thurber) York. She is the loving mother of Deborah Provost of Blackstone, MA, Catherine Languirand and her husband, Ray of NC, Robert A. Provost, Jr. and his wife, Lori of Bellingham, MA, Sharon Antonsen and her husband, Robert of Blackstone, MA, Scott Provost and his wife, Christina of Douglas, MA, and Eric Provost of Blackstone, MA. She leaves her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is the sister of Frances Ansell of PA, Betty Cimino of Milford, MA Sandra Parker of Milford, MA and the late Sonny York and Linda Redden.
A longtime resident of Bellingham formerly of Mendon where she was raised, Barbara was a Bellingham Police Dispatcher for 28 years until retiring in 2001.
Barbara enjoyed traveling and trips to the casinos. Family was her greatest love, Barbara will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Friday, July 15th at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Brendan's Church, 384 Hartford Ave., Bellingham, MA. Interment will follow at the Union Cemetery, Mechanic St., Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Thursday, July 14th from 4PM to 7PM at the funeral home.
