Bertha Burns Obituary

PAWTUCKET - Bertha A. Burns, 92, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015. She was the wife of the late John E. Burns. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Anna (Chicoine) Perron.
Bertha was a switchboard operator for the Pawtucket School Department for 25 years. An extremely talented seamstress, she sewed costumes for the Theresa Landry Dance Studio. She was also an accomplished knitter. Bertha loved playing the penny machines at Twin River. She loved to travel, and she lived life to the fullest.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann-Marie Burns of Rumford; a brother, Ernest Perron of Cumberland, and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Arthur and Alfred Perron.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9am from the Costigan-O'Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in Saint Mary's Church, Pine Street, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Wednesday 9-10:30AM prior to the Mass in the Funeral Home.
