Briscoe Lang Obituary
Born in Glen Ridge, NJ, he was the son of the late Briscoe B. and Marilyn (Mattson) Lang. Briscoe resided in Cumberland for the past 21 years, previously residing in Cranston.
He was an avid photographer, sailor, kayaker, and gardener. He was loved by all who knew him, especially his family and friends. Briscoe and his wife were coaches for the Woonsocket Wildcats - RI Special Olympics for more than 25 years. He was a former member of the Cumberland Conservation Commission for many years.
He was a wetlands scientist for PARE Engineering for more than 20 years, previously for Tilton & Associates of North Attleboro for many years.
Along with his wife he is survived by his three children; Briscoe Baldwin Lang III of Providence, Sarah Grace Lang of Lincoln and Benjamin Michael Lang of Cumberland. His brother, Fred Lang of Newtown, CT., and his sister Susan Lang of Woodbury, CT., along with several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Briscoe's Life Celebration to begin with Visiting Hours on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 4 PM to 7 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland, RI.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the RI Special Olympics, C/O Woonsocket Wildcats, 370 George Washington Highway, Smithfield, RI 02917.
