David M. Nelligan

1941 - 2021

BELLINGHAM - David M. Nelligan, 80, of Bellingham, MA, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Milford Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Cheryl M. (Valliere) Nelligan and the late Dolores (Desrosiers) Nelligan. Born in Boston, MA on December 25, 1941, he was the son of the late Thomas and Marion (Broughey) Nelligan. He is the loving father of Daniel M. Nelligan of Bellingham, MA, David P. Nelligan of Franklin, MA, Cheri Lee Nelligan and her husband, Walter Adler III of Woonsocket, RI and stepfather of Matthew D. Peloquin of Bellingham, MA and Melissa M. Peloquin of Blackstone, MA. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Evan N. Adler of Woonsocket, RI, Andrew N. Adler of Woonsocket, RI, Kelcie A. Peloquin of Lincoln, RI and Olivia M. Attwood of Blackstone, MA. He is the brother of Robert Nelligan, Fred Nelligan and his wife, Sally, John Nelligan and his wife, Phyllis, Rita Dwyer and her husband, Edward, and the late Thomas, Joseph, and Paul Nelligan, Marion Holland, Helen Bernard and Mary Lou Sullivan. He also leaves his nieces and nephews.

David was a resident of Bellingham for over 50 years, formerly of West Roxbury where he was raised. He was a graduate of Roslindale High School, Boston, MA Class of 1959. He worked as a Union Laborer Local 138 in Norwood, MA for 25 years and was an independent mason and carpenter.

David was a longtime member of The Millerville Mens Club, Blackstone, MA and he loved playing pool. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. David will be greatly missed.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 30th at 1:00PM at Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting time from 12PM to 1PM prior to service.
