Evan Miller Obituary
He was the loving brother of Kristen E. Miller of Las Vegas, NV; and the beloved grandson of Rosemarie Robertson of North Providence and Helen Miller of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Edward Robertson and William P. Miller.
Evan was a 2010 graduate of Lincoln High School where he was a member of the Swim Team for 4 years and was co-captain in his senior year. He also played volleyball for 4 years and was a member of the Lincoln High School Band for 4 years. After his graduation, he was the team manager of the Boys Volleyball Team and was the assistant coach of the Unified Basketball Team, both at Lincoln High School. He was attending CCRI.
A Special Olympian, he was selected to represent Rhode Island three times at the National Special Olympic Games, where he won 3 Gold Medals and 2 Silver Medals, all in swimming. In 2010, he was named the Rhode Island Special Olympics Athlete of the Year.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 18 at 11 A.M. in St. Jude's Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. His burial will be private.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln Friday 4-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Evan's memory to Special Olympics Rhode Island, 370 George Washington Highway #1, Smithfield, RI 02917 would be appreciated. I was truly heartbroken to hear of Evan's passing, and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I try so hard to teach every one of my clients just a little bit about what real life is about, but in this case, it is Evan who taught me. I will never forget the delight and pride he presented his final exam from the culinary program, giving 100% despite the fact that he could have said he couldn't. I have never met a young man with such an amazingly positive attitude, committed to the things he truly loved most. He will never be forgotten and it was truly an honor to have been a small part of his life.

Steve, Lori & Kristen, when I read of Evans passing my heart just broke for your family. I remember Steve & Lori at the Cumberland Boys & Girls Club for swim meets all the time. Evan was just starting his swim career, so eager, pushed himself and had so much determination.. our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Our deepest sympathy to you on Evan's passing. We heard the news while traveling back home from our band trip! Ironically Evan was heavy on my mind. With every band trip his presence was always felt! His joy, contagious laughter and smile will always remain in the hearts of those he touched. We are forever grateful to have known him. I will miss him at his regular visits with me at the office! On behalf of Tamara Burman who is currently serving in the United States Peace Corp - At-Bashy, Kyrgyzstan (in Asia) she would like to offer her deepest, heart felt condolence's to the Miller family. She was greatly saddened to hear of Evan's passing this week.
Outside of Evan's many life accomplishments, he also spent a good portion of time over the years at the Lincoln Cumberland Boys & Girls Club.
Tamara had many lunches with Evan at Davenport's (one of Evan's favorite eateries), providing her the opportunity to speak with him about his many activities outside of the club such as CCRI, Special Olympics, Swimming, or any array of life topics.
Tamara would speak of Evan often as he assisted and pitched in with daily activities within the club. Evan's good natured spirit, hard work, willingness to always lend a hand, as well as his smile and laughter will always be remembered.
