Florette F. Desaulniers

PEMBROKE PINES, FL - Florette F. Desaulniers, 85, of Pembroke Pines, FL, passed peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at St. Catherine's Hospice in Hialeah, FL. She was the beloved wife of Roland W. Desaulniers for 62 years.
Born and raised in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Bernadette (Mongeon) Moyen. She resided in Woonsocket for most of her life. In retirement she lived in Stuart, FL and later Pembroke Pines, FL. For several years, she had been the owner of a Li'l General Convenience store in North Smithfield.
Florette was a communicant of Saint Agatha's Parish from its inception. She and Roland were the first couple to be married in the new parish. Friendly and outgoing, she enjoyed her golf and bowling leagues, and the Friday night card group. She was a devoted wife and mother and cherished her five grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughter Denise D. Hawla and her husband David of Barrington, daughter Louise R. Proctor and her life partner Llewellyn Clarke of Ave Maria, FL and her son Paul R. Desaulniers and his wife Charina of Miramar, FL. She leaves her grandchildren, Matthew Proctor and his wife Susan of San Francisco, Eric Proctor of Tamarac, FL, Maxwell Hawla of Washington, DC, Leslie Hawla of Barrington and Reese Desaulniers of Miramar FL. She was the sister of Florence Evans of Burrillville, Norman Moyen of Woonsocket and the late Albert Moyen, Lillian Lamoureux and Raymond Moyen.
To celebrate her life, a memorial mass will be held on Saturday, June 11, at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Pembroke Pines, FL.
