Francis G. Gerstner

1934 - 2018

LINCOLN - Francis G. Gerstner, 83, of Lincoln passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI. He was the husband of Patricia J. (Savard) Gerstner for 63 years.
Born September 24, 1934 in Wyandotte, Michigan, he was a son of the late Francis and Marian (Schenck) Gerstner.
Frank grew up in Ecorse, MI and lived in the Down River area of Detroit in the early part of his life. He lived in Cumberland, RI for 44 years before moving to Lincoln.
He was a 1952 graduate of St. Francis Xavier High School in Ecorse, MI.
Frank worked in retail management all of his career and at Anderson Little for over 20 years before retiring in 1999.
He was a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Church in North Attleboro and loved to travel. He loved to watch sports, was a devoted Michigan fan, and was an avid photographer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: James F. Gerstner and wife Karen of Houston, TX and Lawrence J. Gerstner of Newton; He was father of the late John P. (age 50) and Gerald A. Gerstner (age 2) A sister: Elizabeth Girt of Michigan; He was the brother of the late Marian Louise Migliaccio and Richard Gerstner. 5 grandchildren: Laura Walbridge, Allison Hemwattakit, and Elizabeth, Emily and Paulina Gerstner; Frank had one niece and five nephews who reside in Michigan.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 26 from 4-7 p.m. at the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday, January 27 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass at St. Mary's Church, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro at 10 o'clock.
Burial will be in Michigan, the family's home state.
