Frederick C. Osiecki

1922 - 2017

UXBRIDGE - Frederick C. Osiecki, 94, of Uxbridge, MA died Friday January 27 at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing in Northbridge, MA surrounded by his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.
Fred was born September 23, 1922 in his parents' home in Millville, MA where he spent most of his life until building a house on River Road in Uxbridge, MA. He was the youngest of twelve children, including five brothers and six sisters.
Fred was drafted into the army in 1942, serving in World War II, traveling from the Aleutian Islands, Hawaiian Islands, Guadalcanal, New Britain Island, Philippines, and Japan. He received an assortment of medals including the Army Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with one bronze star for the Southern Philippines Campaign, World War II Victory Ribbon, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze star. After returning from overseas, he worked at Draper Corporation in Hopedale, MA for 33 years.
Fred is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Osiecki (Muse) of Uxbridge, MA, sister Jenny Kozaczka of North Smithfield, RI, twin daughters Elizabeth (BJ) Bailey of Uxbridge, MA and Mary Beth Baca of Douglas, MA and her husband John Baca, three grandchildren, Sarah Bailey, Fred Bailey and wife Kari Bailey (Montville), and Michael Baca, and three great-grandchildren, Keira, Elliana, and Annalise.
He was predeceased by his son Brian Osiecki (1997).
He was the oldest living veteran in Millville, and was a St. Augustine's parishioner. He was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan never missing a game. He was the family's handyman and master wood craftsman, building his own house and various birdhouses while fixing anything that's broken. He loved traveling to vacation destinations of Aruba, Bermuda, and Hawaii. Locally, Cape Cod was his place to quahog and cook world-famous clam chowder. He was also well known for manicuring his property to perfection and planting the freshest vegetables.
The family would like to publicly thank the staff at Milford Hospital in Milford, MA and Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing in Northbridge, MA for their support through this difficult process. The staff was exceptional in caring for and assisting us through every step of the way.
Relatives & Friends are invited to a Memorial Mass on Saturday, Feb. 11th at 11:30 A.M. at St. Augustine's Church , 17 Lincoln St. Millville. Burial will take place at a later date. Kubaskafuneralhome.com.
