James Casey Obituary

CUMBERLAND -James Francis Casey, 86, a longtime resident of Cumberland, RI, passed away at Oakland Grove Health Care Center in Woonsocket, on May 3, 2020.

He was the loving husband of the late Anita F. (Gregoire) Casey.

Jim was a beloved father, grand-father, and friend to all that knew him. He was both an artist and a carpenter, and loved music. His personal idols were Norman Rockwell and Frank Sinatra. Jim was happiest with a pencil in his hand, and created many treasured drawings throughout his lifetime.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Edmund and Elizabeth (Tracey) Casey. He is survived by his loving family: daughter, Michelle Lambert-Frigon; son, James Casey, Jr and his fiancée, Anne Staffier Fleming; son, John Casey and his spouse, Renee Casey; son, Patrick Casey and his spouse, Maria Casey; and son, Peter Casey and his spouse Kyla Casey. He was the beloved father-in-law to the late Paul Frigon. He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren: Christopher, Danielle, Renee, Gwendolyn, Jillian, Drew, Melissa, Amber, Patrick Jr., Matthew, Michaela, Kathryn, and his great-grandaughter, Lauren. He was brother to his beloved "Sis", Margaret Fisette, and the late Edmund (Ted) Casey.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all staff members that cared for him during his years at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. This amazing group of individuals became both his, and our, extended family and we are so grateful for the love and care you gave to him. A special blessing of love and gratitude to CNA, Charline Bridges: Due to COVID19, his family was unable to be by his side, and we are forever grateful for you loving him as much as we do and providing us all with a loving, peaceful goodbye with him during his final hours.

Due to current public health guidelines, a funeral mass will be held at a later date to celebrate his life.
