Janet C. Riel

BELLINGHAM - Janet C. (Falardeau) Riel, 61, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Monday, September 26, 2016 at home with loving family by her side. She is the beloved fiance of Craig R. Boutilier. Born in Woonsocket, RI, she is the daughter of Claire (Charpentier) Falardeau of Cumberland, RI and the late Robert Falardeau. She is the loving mother of Jason H. Riel and his wife, Kate of Bellingham, MA, Sara M. Riel of Blackstone, MA and Jarred B. Riel of Bellingham, MA. She also leaves her cherished granddaughter Yeardley. She is the sister of Russell Falardeau and his wife, Sherry of Carver, MA, and Sharon Fontaine and her husband, Roland of Cumberland, RI, and her nieces, nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
A longtime resident of Bellingham, Janet was a graduate of Cumberland High School and CCRI with a nursing degree. Janet worked as a registered nurse at Landmark Medical Center and the Milford VNA. Janet was extremely proud and devoted to helping others through the nursing profession and deeply cherished the bonds and friendships she developed with her fellow nurses. The family would like to thank all of Janet's caregivers and especially the nurses and staff at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton, MA.
Janet especially enjoyed vacationing for two weeks in August at the Cape and Martha's Vineyard, and later on in life traveling to different parts of the country and Canada. Her greatest joy was her three children. Janet will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 29th, at 10:00AM at CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Wednesday, September 28th, from 5PM to 8PM.
