John G. Clancy

1937 - 2015

BELLINGHAM - John G. Clancy, 78, of Bellingham, MA passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 57 years of Deborah A. (Munyon) Clancy. Born in Milford, MA on March 30, 1937 the son of the late John J. and Laura (Fitzpatrick) Clancy. He was the loving father of John G. Clancy, Jr. and Sharon Simmons of Uxbridge, MA, Lori Dexter of Hudson, MA, Karen L. Roche and her husband Tom of Mendon, MA, and Deborah Pepka and her husband, Gary of Pembroke, NH. He leaves his cherished 10 grandchildren, Valleri and Alana Clancy, Kaitlyn, Kelly and Bryan Dexter, Erin, Kevin and Meaghan Roche, Andrew and Colby Pepka. He was the brother of Frances Benjamin of Concord, MA and the late Barbara Clancy.
John was a lifelong resident of Bellingham and graduate of Bellingham High School Class of 1955. He worked for Snap On Tools in Natick, MA for many years until retiring as a superintendent of manufacturing.
He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.
John was a communicant of St. Brendan's Church, and his faith was a very important part of his life. He loved fishing, the beach, working in his yard and was an avid sports fan. His greatest joy was the love of his life, his children and grandchildren. His motto was "Be a best friend to his wife, always tell the truth, and love your family", John will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral will be held on Friday, July 17th at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Brendan's Church, 384 Hartford Ave., Bellingham. Interment will be private. Visiting hours are on Thursday, July 16th from 5 to 8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of John to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
