Joseph Nolet Obituary

WHITINSVILLE - Joseph L. Nolet, 86, passed away peacefully on Mon. September 25, 2017 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester, after a period of declining health.
Mr. Nolet is survived by his seven children; Sharron Nolette of Whitinsville, Deborah Nolet Ballou and husband Bill, of Whitinsville, John Nolet and wife Laurel of Chester, MA, Carol Nolet Rondeau and husband Tom of Charlton, Janice Nolet Christie and husband Brian of Bristol, VT, Cheryl Ann Nolet Smith of Ashburnham, and Judith Nolet Curtis and husband John of Whitinsville. In addition, he leaves 15 grandchildren: Leila, Leah, Abigail, Nathaniel, Mary, Jessica, Erica, William, Jennifer, Alicia, Daniel, Tyler, Rebecca, David, and Joleen, and 14 great grandchildren as well. He is also survived by his elder sister Alice Tessier of W.Wareham, as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends.
Born in Providence, RI on May 7, 1931 Joseph was son of the late Alfred C. and Rosanna (Blanchette) Nolet, and grew up in the Linwood section of Uxbridge. He was predeceased by 5 siblings: Harvey, Roland, and Henry Nolet, and sisters Helen Nolet Tessier and Theresa Nolet Tetreault.
He is predeceased by his former wife of over twenty years, Doris Rondeau and a grandson John William Curtis.
While living in Vermont, Joseph was a Stonecutter for the Rock of Ages Monument Co. out of Barre, and then later, he worked in the construction industry building Interstate 495. After retirement, Joseph operated his own food truck in Barre for 5 years. Joseph was a man with many skills. He was a great cook, he loved music and dancing, and was a musician. In in his younger days, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and seasonal camping trips in Vermont.
Joseph was a long standing member of the Loyal Order of The Moose and the Stonecutter Guild, both in Barre, VT.
Family and friends are invited to Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville, for wake and funeral services. A funeral Home Service will be held on Fri. September 29 at 11:15 am. Calling hours will be held from 10:30 to noon. In addition, a Memorial Mass will be held on Fri. Oct. 6 at 10am in Good Shepherd Church, 121 Linwood St., Uxbridge, cremation burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Whitinsville.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph's memory may be made to: Good Samaritan House: 105 No. Seminary St. Barre, VT. 05651, or to: Veterans Inc. 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
