Kenneth A. Bogan

1928 - 2017

BELLINGHAM - Kenneth A. Bogan, 88, of Bellingham, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Blaire House, Milford, MA. He is the beloved husband for 66 years of June F. (Creighton) Bogan. Born in Woonsocket, RI on July 27, 1928, he is the son of the late Vincent and Grace (Williams) Bogan. He is the loving father of Alan F. Bogan and Cindy Schroeder of Bellingham, MA, Susan Lucchesi and her husband, Michael of Blackstone, MA, Michael K. Bogan and his wife, Nancy of Mendon, MA, and Sally A. Bogan and Michael Messier of Bellingham, MA. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Jill Bogan, Melissa Glowa, Christopher Tuttle, Brian Lucchesi, Christopher Lucchesi, David Freni, Keith Bogan and Cory Bogan, and 6 great-grandchildren. He is the brother of the late Vincent Bogan, late Warren Bogan, and Thomas Bogan and his wife, Connie of Providence, RI.
A resident of Bellingham for over 60 years formerly of Woonsocket, he worked as a manager and route sales at Wonder Bread in Natick for 25 years until retiring in 1992. Previously he worked at Garelick Farms in Franklin and HP Hood in Natick. After retiring he worked part time at New England Country Club for several years where he was an avid golfer.
He was a United States Navy World War II Veteran serving on the USS Howard W. Gilmore submarine and received the American Area Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of the VFW Post 7272 in Bellingham, MA.
Mr. Bogan was a Past President of the Elder Services Group and very active at the Bellingham Senior Center. For many years, he was a warden at the Bellingham Election Polls. He was a member of the Bellingham Call Fire Fighters serving as a Lieutenant for many years. He was a communicant of St. Blaise Church. Devoted to his family and friends, he will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 18th at 8:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM at St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow with Military Honors at St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone, MA. Visiting hours are on Monday, April 17th from 5PM to 8PM at the funeral home.
