Mrs. Reba Gregory Bogan, 93, widow of David Blaine Bogan, 3007 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy., Buffalo, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026 at Spartanburg Regional Heart Center. She was born on July 27, 1932 in Buffalo, the daughter of the late Grover Franklin, Sr. and Thelma Stepp Gregory.

Mrs. Bogan graduated from Union High School as the valedictorian of the Class of 1949. Following one semester at Spartanburg Junior College, she returned home to work at Patterson Motor Company, later Roper Chevrolet, in Union. When the University of South Carolina opened a branch campus in Union in the mid-1960’s, she resumed her college studies locally, transferring to Winthrop College where she graduated in 1969. She continued her studies, culminating with an Education Specialist degree from Winthrop. It had always been her dream to be a teacher, and that dream was fulfilled when she began her teaching career at Excelsior Elementary. She later also taught at Central Jr. High, Union High School, Monarch Elementary, and Buffalo Elementary. She served as principal at Monarch for several years in the 1980’s.

She was an active lifetime member of Buffalo Methodist Church where she served at various times as children’s and youth choir director, chancel choir director, and organist. She played the organ at church for more than 75 years, and at the time of her passing was still faithfully serving as organist.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by brothers Grover Jr., Ralph, Neil, and Howard Gregory; a sister, Lois Williams, and an infant sister, Opal Gregory. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family.

Surviving are two daughters: Lynn McJunkin of the home and Susan Cunningham (Bill) of Newberry; six grandchildren: Elijah Bogan of Buffalo, Laura Cunningham Stair (Jonathan) of Greenville, Aubrey McJunkin of Charleston, Julia McJunkin of Columbia, David Cunningham of Austin, TX, and Emily Cunningham Morgan (David) of Simpsonville; three great-grandchildren: Luke McJunkin, Emma McJunkin, and Caroline Stair; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service to honor her life will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Buffalo Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Jeff Farmer. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:30 until 2:45. Interment will follow the service at Bogansville Methodist Church cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Buffalo Methodist Church, P.O. Box 176, Buffalo SC 29321 or to the Bogansville Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 4052 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy, Jonesville SC 29353.

The family will be at the home, 3007 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy., Buffalo.
