Mark Camara Obituary

Mark A. Camara

WOONSOCKET - Mark A. Camara 69, of 11th Ave. passed away on August 28, 2024. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Joseph Camara and Murial (Chamberland) Piche, and stepson of the late Jean Piche. Mark graduated from Mt St. Charles Academy in 1973, and Bryant University in 1977. He received his MPA at the University of RI and his PHD in Business Administration from Touro University International. Mark was the database administrator for the State of RI for several years before retiring. He was a Veteran of the US Coast Guard Reserves for over twenty-five years. Mark was the Admissions Partner at the US Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT, and the Boating Safety Examiner at the US Coast Guard Auxiliary in Prov. RI. He was a board member of the American Legion Post 85, a life member of St. Joseph's Veterans, and a member and past president of the United Veterans Council of Great Woonsocket. He loved the Boston Red Sox and Chelo's Hometown Bar and Grill.

Mark is survived by his daughter Kristen Duhamel and her husband Edmond of Manville, his brother Brian Camara of Woonsocket and grandson Zachary.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 4-6 PM at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home,

His funeral will be Wednesday, September 11, 2024, beginning at the funeral home at 10:30 AM and concluding with a committal service and military honors at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Please visit
