Michael Dowhan Obituary
Born, May 18, 1923, in Polyania, West Ukraine, he was the son of the late Kost and Anna (Hoy) Dowhan, he came to this country in 1950, settling in Michigan, before coming to Rhode Island.
Michael was employed as a machinist/wireman at the Brown & Sharp Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1980. Proud of his Ukrainian heritage, he was a communicant and member of St. Michaels's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Woonsocket. He enjoyed working with electronics and spending time in his garden.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Peter Dowhan of West Greenwich, R.I. and Michael J. Dowhan, of South Dartmouth, Mass.; also two grandchildren. His Funeral will be Tuesday, (June 14), at 9 a.m. from the Kubaska Funeral Home, 35 Harris Ave., with a Mass of Devine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 394 Blackstone St, Woonsocket. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation hours are Monday from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church.
