Michael Dubeau Obituary

HUDSON, N.H. - Michael Joseph Dubeau, age 53, died on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ellen (Schofield), his son Kevin, daughter Stephani, his son-in-law Patrick and three beautiful granddaughters.
Michael grew up in Woonsocket, and is the oldest of five children to Arthur and Gail (Liard) Dubeau. As a child, he was an avid Boy Scout and later played football for Woonsocket High School. After graduating, Michael entered and served with unwavering distinction as an Airman in the United States Air Force. Originally joining as an aircraft maintainer, Michael soon thrived as a Military Training Instructor, earning honors upon graduation and leading flights for three years. He then went on to become a Recruiter, spending the next 12 years seeking out the best and brightest young minds and guiding them to successful military careers. Ever the perpetual mentor, Michael completed his military career as a First Sergeant, providing help, guidance and discipline to those in need. Revered by so many who served with him, Michael was the epitome of excellence, consistently leading by his own example.
A 25-year veteran, Michael retired and continued to serve as a JROTC instructor and mentor to the young men and women of Alvirne High School, Hudson, N.H. Michael, known to his cadets as Sergeant, was a strong and magnanimous leader. The discipline and patriotism he developed and emulated over the years remains his pillar, and will continue to positively influence all whom were blessed enough to have known him.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the Hudson VFW, 15 Bockes Rd, Hudson, NH, 03051. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers you consider making a donation to the Alvirne High School JROTC Program. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm St., Milford, N.H.

Mike, it was a pleasure to know you and serve in the USAF with you! We certainly had some good times at Recruiter School and at our first Recruiting post there in Maine and New Hampshire! You were truly a good man who made his mark! Thanks for your friendship and being a stellar Wingman! Rest in Heavenly peace, Brother!

I just found out about Michael's passing while Google searching for old recruiting friends. I met Michael in Recruiting School back in 1988. We had a friendly if contentious relationship. I was constantly trying to get him to see that everything wasn't black and white, while he was always steadfast in his beliefs. We kept in touch over the years, running into each other a few times at TDY locations. I'm sorry to say that we lost touch after his retirement, but from what I've read here, he was busy instilling his sense of patriotism and what's right upon new generations. Even though we weren't in touch through the last years it's still a sense of loss. I know he loved his wife and family, and I'm truly sorry for your loss.

Wow! What can I actually say that hasn't been said about Mike Dubeau? I had the honor of being trained by Ssgt Dubeau when I entered the Air Force back in 1986. Without his leadership and faith in a skinny 17yo kid from the wrong side of the tracks, I would not have made it! Michael Dubeau pushed me and mentored me at the same time. He started off with a "Rainbow" flight of 53 and turned them into Airmen! Over the years I kept in touch with Mike as I traveled the globe in the Air Force and he never once forgot me and reminded me to keep a 341 handy just in case. Mike Dubeau you are one of a kind, a soul that served such a tremendous purpose on this plane of existence...you will be missed but you will never be forgotten! Thanks for all of the great habits you taught me! Honor Flight!!

Our deepest Sympathy go out to his family and friends, Sgt. was a great influence on my daughter who was in his JROTC class all four years at Alvirne High School. If not for Sgt. she would have never stayed in the program, or even attended summer leadership school. He was always there for his students to help them any way he could. He will be missed, but never forgotten. RIP Sgt. Dubeau.

Sargent Dubeau was a blessing not only in our son Joe's life, but our's as well. During the three years Joe has been in JROTC, he has grown and matured with with Sargent Dubeau's mentoring. He is growing into a strong, well rounded young man. Thank you Sargent Dubeau for the joy, wisdom and fun you shared with all the people you touched.

I am so sorry to hear about Mike's passing. Fifty three years old is far too young to go. Since our high school years, it seems that he lived a wonderful life. I am sending my deepest sympathies to everyone in the family.

I am so sad to hear about Mike's passing and I would like to offer my sincere condolences to his family. I was a high school friend of Mike and I will always remember his great smile, sense of humor and his positive outlook on life. Our group of friends shared some fun times with Mike attending h.s. sporting events, friends parties, and lots of laughs in the classroom. You will be sadly missed Mike, but you have given us a gift of some great high school memories. Rest in peace my friend.

my condolences to all his family and friends,I haven't seen Mike in the decades since our school years but I recall playing football with him as far back as Junior high when we had a winning season, one game over .500.If I remember correctly he was our center, one of the hardest spots to play, and Jeff Krupa was our Q.B.Being the same age,I must say, that is far too young to go and was sorry to hear.I clearly remember Mike,as in his picture here ,always smiling ,joking and friendly.Funny story,Mike was the one who gave me the nickname 'Tiny',which sticks with me til this day used by all who have known me since those days.I was quite a bit bigger then most other 9th graders at the time and I took no offense by it.Even if I had,Mike was just the sort of guy you really couldn't get mad at anyways.
