Michael A. Keyes

1956 - 2022

WOONSOCKET - Michael A. Keyes, 65, of Woonsocket, RI passed away on July 25, 2022 at Landmark Medical Center. Born on October 31, 1956 in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late George Keyes, Jr., Cecile (Drouin) LaForest and Robert W. LaForest. He leaves his sisters, Robin Darling and her husband Daniel who were his caregivers, and Nancy Soto and her husband, Humberto, all of Woonsocket. He was predeceased by his brothers Joe Drouin and Walter R. LaForest. He leaves his nieces Samantha Darling Plasse and her husband, Christian, Kerri Darling and her partner Troyak Alarie, Kristyn Alger and Jaclyn Alger, and nephews Adam Keyes and partner Amanda Hopper and Jeffrey Drouin and partner Jen Hayes.

Mike was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket and was a graduate of Woonsocket High School class of 1975 and attended college in Syracuse New York. Mike worked for Pepin Lumber for over 20 years until retiring in 2021. They also ended up being a part of his family. He also had worked at Miller Electric, Cumberland Farms Warehouse in MA, D & S Screw and Finkelsteins.

Mike loved his nieces and nephews, cartoons, Rumple Minze and southern rock, especially Lynyrd Skynyrd. Mike loved being with his family and spending time at Bob & Bertha's lake. His enjoyment was going on vacation with his nieces Kerri & Sam. He also enjoyed cooking and baking, especially making Sunday breakfast. He was much more than an uncle and brother. Mike will be greatly missed.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 16th at 7:00PM at Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St. (rte 126), Bellingham, MA. Visiting time from 5:30PM to 7:00PM prior to service.
