Michael Troy Obituary

NORTH SMITHFIELD - Michael R. Troy, 86, of North Smithfield, died September 20, 2023 in Landmark Medical Center. He was and the son of the late John and Genevieve (Breton) Troy.

Michael worked as a sales representative for multiple companies including Elmwood Sensors before becoming an independent sales representative. He loved his job, and his work took him all over the country - a "road warrior," he kept his driver's license and clean driving record through the end. Michael served in the Navy, originally as a career reservist and then on active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis and in the Vietnam War Era. He was a veracious reader of newspapers and books, and always kept up on current events. Michael loved to walk a lot, and ski,, but most of all, he loved spending time with his wife.

Besides his wife Beth, he is survived by his son, Brendon Troy, and his wife Anna, of Chappaqua, NY; his daughter, Amy Troy, and her husband Chris Palmer, of Philadelphia, PA; and his two grandchildren, Eleanor and Vivian. He was the brother of the late John Troy and Mary Troy.

Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket, RI 02895. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
