Jayne Troy Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 23, 2026.
Jayne Ann (Frontino) Troy peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Born and raised in North East, Pennsylvania, Jayne graduated from North East High School in 1968 and went on to attend Kent State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1972. It was there that she met her future husband, Harold "Buddy" Troy.

Following graduation, the couple moved to Jonesboro, Georgia, where Jayne began her teaching career in Clayton County. She taught at McGarrah (formerly Lake Harbin) Elementary School and was named Teacher of the Year in 1992. She dedicated herself to the education of young students until her retirement in 2006. Jayne was also a member of the Morrow Civic Woman's Club, where she was deeply involved in the Clayton County community.

After retiring, Jayne and her family moved to Peachtree City, where she remained committed to serving others. She volunteered for many years at Piedmont Fayette Hospital and was an active member of Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church. A passionate advocate for children, Jayne coordinated Social Services ministries that supported youth and families throughout Fayette County in meaningful and impactful ways.

In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.

Jayne was preceded in death by her parents, Bette and James Frontino; her stepmother, Janet Frontino; and her inlaws, June and J.H. Troy. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Buddy; her daughter, Jessica; her son, Michael, and daughterinlaw, Amy, and their children, Emmett and Polly; her brother, Terry, and his wife, MaryAnn; several cousins, nieces, and nephews; and her beloved yellow Labrador Retriever, Scout.

A Celebration of Life is being planned, with arrangements forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to the Joshua's Gift Ministry at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church or the ALS Association.
