CUMBERLAND - Phyllis M. Plonka, daughter of Anthony and Florida Sudol, passed away on Valentine's Day, February 14th, 2016. She is survived by her husband Walter Plonka, two sons Derek and Ryan, as well as three grandchildren Kaley, Arrolyn, and Everly.
Phyllis was an important fixture in the Woonsocket educational system, having taught the 2nd grade for 35 years at Bernon Heights Elementary. She has touched the lives of many a student and family members. Always putting herself before others and willing to give them her all.
She lead an active life. Seeking new treasures in every moment of the day. And encouraged others to live their lives to a blossom as full as her bloom.
An avid artist with a desire to always learn a new approach. Phyllis enjoyed working with water colors, sketching, and nature photography.
Family was everything to Phyllis, but not just within this family will her memories rest. Memories of her soul will carry on to the many souls she has touched. Through those lives touched, her soul will live on.
She will be missed by all. A Funeral Service will be Friday morning (Feb. 19th) at 11:00 A.M. in the Kubaska Funeral Home, 33 Harris Ave. Woonsocket. Relatives & Friends are invited. A visitation hour will be Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. before the Service. Burial will be private. Kubaskafuneralhome.com.

My deepest sympathy to Phyllis's family. I was friends with Phyllis all throughout high school, college, and our teaching careers. We followed each other on Facebook since I now live in Florida. She was a beautiful person and will be remembered as such.

Dear Walter and family..my heart is heavy to hear this news about Phyllis, but I know how she suffered in these recent years. It was wonderful to get reconnected with her after so many years. As a child my family and the Sudol family spend many many years of fun times together.. We all loved Phyllis & Anita and their parents. At our 1st visit when we reconnected a few years ago, Phyllis asked how I had such peace after just loosing my sister. I gave her one word JESUS then we talked for a long time how he could give her peace and comfort and following up with emails when I cam back home. It was such a joy to share. I know how much she loved you Walt and the kids and grandkids too.. Phyllis's memory will carry on through the lives she touched. God bless all of you.

My deepest sympathy Walt, Derek, and Ryan. Working with Phyllis for so many years at Bernon I have many fond memories of laughter, conferences, meetings, workshops, and many memories of the times we spent together when our children were small and we got together to go plays and outings.
She was a beautiful lady.

Our deepest sympathy regarding the loss of our wonderful Phyllis -

Gordon and I and our entire family were so sad to receive the news that Phyllis had passed away Sunday. She has been in our thoughts every day.

Cousin Phyllis,will truly be missed by the whole Sokolowski family!!!!! Phyllis always thought first of others, was so giving,kind and also so much fun to be with always laughing. Growing up and also as adults we always had so much fun together with our families at the ocean. Phyllis especially loved kayaking with Walter. She also loved fishing at the ocean/we would go with our dads. We always looked forward to seeing Phyllis and Walter on our visits to Rhode Island at Christmas and the summer.

We will miss her dearly, but know that she is being held in the palm of HIS HAND.
