Robert Aime "Bob" Provost

1936 - 2021

BELLINGHAM - Robert "Bob" Aime Provost, age 85, of Bellingham, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at his home surrounded by his beloved family. He was the husband of the late Barbara L. (York) Provost for 58 years.

Bob was born in Providence, RI on May 9, 1936 to his pre-deceased parents Aime and Ida (Lafleur) Provost of Blackstone. Bob is survived by his children, Debbie Provost of Bellingham, Cathie Languirand and her husband, Ray of Summerhill, PA, Robert Provost Jr. and his wife, Lori of Bellingham, Sharon Antonsen and her husband Robert of Lake Placid, FL Scott Provost and his wife, Christina of Douglas, Eric Provost and his wife, Regina of Blackstone. He leaves his cherished 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is the brother of Roger Provost of Ledyard, CT, Barbara Doherty and her husband, Brian of Blackstone, Louis Provost of North Smithfield, Marie Germain and her husband, Robert of Labelle, FL, and the late Arthur "Doc" Provost. Bob also leaves his nieces, nephews and beloved family and friends.

Bob joined the United States Army Combat Engineers RA, where he served 4 years then served an additional 6 years in the reserves. He then went on to become an on call fire fighter and later joined the permanent Bellingham Fire Department on July 6, 1970. He proudly served the town of Bellingham for 33 years.

Bob is a long time resident of Bellingham for 63 years. He loved being outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved going to the casinos and traveling with his wife and family. Bob will be greatly missed.

Funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 23rd at 9:00AM from Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Mechanic St., Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Monday, November 22nd from 5PM to 7PM at the funeral home.
