Roger H. Corriveau

ATTLEBORO - Roger H. Corriveau, 88, of Attleboro, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Therese J. (Marcil) Corriveau for the past 62 years.

Born April 21, 1929 in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Joseph and Rose (Tondreault).

Roger was a longtime resident of North Attleboro before moving in with his daughter Annette and son-in-law Luke Parker four years ago.

He worked as a glass equipment mechanic for the former Corning Glass Works, later GTE Sylvania, in Central Falls for 47 years before retiring.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran from 1947 until his honorable discharge in 1950, serving as a marine fireman aboard the U.S.S. Henley DD762.

Roger was a devoted father to his six children. He loved spending time with his family, and also enjoyed bowling and horseshoes.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his six children and their spouses: Paul H. Corriveau and wife Catherine of Plainville, Police Captain Gerard J. Corriveau (retired) and wife Celeste of Millville, Pauline T. Starr and husband James of Tewksbury, Simonne L. Corriveau and husband Raymond P. Erlandson of Uxbridge, Jeanne M. Riley and husband Richard of Millville, and Annette M. Parker and husband Luke of Attleboro; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters: Bertha Rezendes of Providence, Annette Rozak of Shrewsbury, Claire Philbin of Cumberland and Rita Forster of North Attleboro. He was predeceased by his brother Norman Corriveau and his sister Rhea Cragg.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Aug. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove St., North Attleboro.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, 58 Church St., North Attleboro on Saturday, Aug. 5 at noon, followed by burial with U.S. Navy honors at St. Mary's Cemetery, Attleboro Falls.
