Ruth Cookson Obituary

PAWTUCKET - Ruth Cookson, 89, of Pawtucket died on Saturday, March 14, 2015 after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Raymond R. Cookson.
Mrs. Cookson was born in Providence, the daughter of the late James Nelson and Elizabeth (Cupitt) Nelson. She was a receptionist for Dr. Richard Bertini for over twenty years. Ruth was a longtime active member of the Darlington Congregational Church in Pawtucket.
Mrs. Cookson is survived by her son David R. Cookson and his wife Lori (Charpentier) Cookson of Miamisburg, Ohio.
She also leaves her grandchildren, Alyssa Glisson and her husband Rick, Rebecca Flohre and her husband Blake, Hollie Cookson and Carolyn Cookson. Mrs. Cookson also leaves her great grandsons, James David Glisson and Wyatt Robert Glisson, her sister Edith Shearer, and several loving nieces and nephews.
There will be a funeral service for Mrs. Cookson on Wednesday at 5:00 pm in the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be visitation in the funeral home from 4-5 pm on Wednesday prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Darlington Congregational Church, 685 Central Avenue, Pawtucket R.I. 02861 in Ruth's memory. For online condolences please visit www.manningheffern.com.
