Stanley Evans Obituary
He was the husband of Lorraine C. (Legare) Evans.
Born in Waukegan, Ill., the son of the late Gilbert and Violet (Lee) Evans, he worked as a truck driver for Westwood Lumber, Deka Batteries and delivered for Seven Eleven stores. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy. Stanley loved to repair lawnmowers and snowblowers for his family and friends and loved working with his hands.
Besides his wife Lorraine, he is survived by his two children, Jessica Raftery and her husband, Scott, of Cumberland and Eric Evans of Somerset, Mass.; one step-son, Brian Desmarais and his wife, Julie, of Trophy Club, Texas. He had a host of siblings and five grand children. He was also the brother-in-law of Omer Legary and his wife Estelle and Roland Legary and his wife Betty; all of North Smithfield.
A funeral home service will be held on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Road, Woonsocket, R.I. Burial will be in Precious Blood Cemetery, Rathbun St., Woonsocket. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cancer Research Institute Web Donation One Exchange Plaza 55 Broadway, Suite 1802 New York, NY 10006, in Stanley's memory would be appreciated.
