Thomas DaCosta Obituary

CUMBERLAND – Thomas R. DaCosta, 61, passed away on Sunday surrounded by his loving family and friends in the Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Center, Providence.

Born in Central Falls, he was the son of the late Joseph L. and Doris M. (Fontaine) DaCosta. Mr. DaCosta was a lifelong Cumberland resident.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving with the rank of Private.

He was a member of the Filibuster Club, Cumberland. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

He was a machine operator for the former Standard Nut & Bolt for more than 20 years. He also worked for the former Kelehan Construction of Lincoln for a number of years.

He is survived by his sisters, Rev. Barbara DaCosta of Cranston and Carol Laird of North Providence. He was the uncle of Aaron Laird of Charlestown. He also leaves several great nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Michael J. DaCosta.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, with Calling Hours from 9 to 11 a.m. in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Cumberland. A Prayer Service will be held at 11 a.m.
