I was a classmate of Tom at Sacred Heart Academy. We were both class officers and team mates on basketball and baseball teams. Why he chose the Knick name Simp I don´t recall other than he was quite the cut-up if not a class clown. Hard to figure since he was the smartest in our class. A perfect gentleman as well .. even when a nasty opponent on the base field field slashed his ankle with his spike as Tom stretched to make a play at first base.!
I regret loosing touch with Tom and most of my SHA class mates. I went to URI and moved to Georgia upon graduation..been here ever since.
Wish we had stayed in touch. Found myself thinking about Tom since the PGA is being played in Louisville as I type this. Mike Gautreaux
