Thomas Farley Obituary

LOUISVILLE, KY - Thomas W. ("Tom") Farley, 74, of Louisville, KY died on Friday, April 28, 2023 after 11 years as a stroke survivor. He passed peacefully at Norton hospice with family by his side.

Tom was born in Pawtucket, RI on January 24, 1949.

He was the husband of Sally V. Farley, the son of the late Francis W. and Helen O. (Trahan) Farley and brother of Donald F. Farley of Bovina Center, NY.

Tom has three sons: Justin Moulton and his wife Danielle (Vancouver, WA), Adam Moulton, his wife Ashley and their daughter Annabelle (Jeffersonville, IN) and Michael Farley (Louisville, KY). He leaves many cousins and former friends in the Blackstone Valley area.

Tom grew up in Central Falls, RI and graduated from Providence College in 1971 with an accounting degree. He began his professional career with Arthur Young in Providence, RI.

He moved to Louisville, KY in 1987 and was a managing partner at Arthur Young until their merger in 1990. He started his own ice cream distribution business and later worked as a consultant with the Oliver Group. When he had his stroke in 2012, he was the Dir. of Leadership Development at Norton Healthcare.

Tom will be remembered for his affable personality and perennial smile. His love of sports and New England heritage made Tom a lifelong citizen of Red Sox Nation and diehard Patriots and Celtics fan. Tom enjoyed golf and was a past member of Polo Fields Country Club.

Tom is cherished by his wife and three boys for everything he gave and taught them. He was many things, but above all, a kind soul who loved his boys and his wife. He will be missed.

A mass of remembrance for Tom will be celebrated at Church of Saint Teresa, 358 Newport Ave, Pawtucket RI on November 11th at 11:00 am.

I was a classmate of Tom at Sacred Heart Academy. We were both class officers and team mates on basketball and baseball teams. Why he chose the Knick name Simp I don´t recall other than he was quite the cut-up if not a class clown. Hard to figure since he was the smartest in our class. A perfect gentleman as well .. even when a nasty opponent on the base field field slashed his ankle with his spike as Tom stretched to make a play at first base.!
I regret loosing touch with Tom and most of my SHA class mates. I went to URI and moved to Georgia upon graduation..been here ever since.
Wish we had stayed in touch. Found myself thinking about Tom since the PGA is being played in Louisville as I type this. Mike Gautreaux
