BELLINGHAM - Thomas F. Ryan, Jr., 70, of Bellingham, MA passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Milford Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Tom is the beloved husband for 48 years of Sheila L. (Dolan) Ryan. Born in Boston, MA on April 13, 1946, he is the son of the late Thomas F. and Veronica J. (Szymanski) Ryan, Sr. Tom is the loving father of Thomas F. Ryan, III and his wife, Diane of Holliston, MA, Timothy P. Ryan and his wife, Carolyn of Millis, MA, and Dennis M. Ryan and his wife, Nicole of Uxbridge, MA. He leaves his cherished 8 grandchildren, Topher, Cullen, Timmy, Emily, Aiden, Dylan, Sean and Molly. He is the brother of Pat Ryan and his wife, Joanne of Plymouth, MA, Mike Ryan of Florida, Charlie Ryan and his wife, Kathy of Holbrook, MA, Joe Ryan and his wife, Pam of Weymouth, MA and the late Frank and Paul Ryan. He is the brother in law of Ann, Linda, Sylvia, Peeb and Karen Pihl, Tim and Karen Dolan, Ed Muntz and his late wife, Maureen, and many nieces and nephews.
A resident of Bellingham for 47 years formerly of Dorchester, MA, Tom is recently retired Head Custodian of Bellingham Middle School, former Bellingham Police Officer, Walpole Prison Guard and co-owner of Ceramic Studio in Bellingham.
Tom was a United States Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
He loved animals and owned many pets. He enjoyed boating and vacationing with his family. His greatest joy was his family especially his grandchildren. Tom will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral will be held on Friday, May 13th at 9:30AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM at St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow at the Scott Cemetery, Center St., Bellingham.
Visiting hours are on Thursday, May 12th from 4PM to 8PM at the funeral home. Donations to Saethre-Chotzen Syndrome or Spinal Muscular Atrophy would be appreciated.
