Wallace E. Auclair

1926 - 2021

BLACKSTONE - Wallace E. Auclair, 95, of Blackstone, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at home with family by his side. He is the beloved husband for 76 years of Jeannette P. (Plante) Auclair. Born in Woonsocket, RI on February 24, 1926, he is the son of the late Alphonse S. and Emma (Jolin) Auclair. He is the loving father of Edward Auclair and his wife, Debra of Nashua, NH, Janet Lamoureux and her husband, Dennis of Millville, MA, Suzanne Borozny of Blackstone, MA, Wallace Auclair and his wife, Rachel of Glendale, RI, Laurie Richard and her husband, Roger of Sturbridge, MA and the late David Auclair. He leaves his cherished 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is the brother of the late Alphonse Auclair, Claude Auclair and Gabrielle Bachand.

Mr. Auclair was a resident of Blackstone for 69 years formerly of Woonsocket. Mr. & Mrs. Auclair were married on February 24, 1945. He worked in Maintenance for 42 years at Mount St. Charles Academy retiring in 2011.

He was a United Sates Navy World War II Veteran attaining the rank of Painter Third Class and received the American Theater Medal and Victory Medal. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Uxbridge, MA.

Mr. Auclair was a communicant of St. Theresa Church and a member of the Council on Aging in Blackstone. He enjoyed walking, exercising and working around his home. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral will be held on Thursday, October 21st with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, MA. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Wallace E. Auclair may be made to Hope Health Hospice, 1324 Belmont St., Suite 202, Brockton, MA 02301 would be appreciated.
