William J. Nadon

1929 - 2017

BELLINGHAM - William J. Nadon passed away unexpectedly at home, entering into eternal rest on July 26, 2017. Mr. Nadon was the loving husband, Jean F. (Adams) Nadon. He was the devoted father to Billiegene A. Lavallee and her husband Roland A. of Bellingham; William J. Nadon II and his wife Rosemary of Harrisville; Brenda L. Spurlock and her husband Earl of Sutton, N.H.; and Wanda M. Morse of Northbridge. He was also loving grandfather to Roland Jr., Billy, Andrea, Thjodie, Sabrina and Wendy, A.J. and Noah. Mr. Nadon was great-grandfather to Jennifer, David Jr., Ashley, Hannah, Tommy and William Wyatt.

Mr. Nadon, known to all as Bill or Billy, was born in Bristol, N.H., and educated in Bradford and Newport schools. Bill started working in agriculture at 14 years old, moved on to woolen, paper and lumber mills, operated long-distance lumber trucks, and worked for several garages. A resident of Bellingham since 1954, Bill worked for Schafer Farm and Walnut Farms Inc. He transitioned to Rosenfeld Concrete in 1963 as a heavy equipment and wrecker operator and mechanic, retiring in 1988. Bill was an active member of Teamsters Local 170 through retirement.

A former member of the Bellingham Personnel Board, Mr. Nadon was also a member of the Holy Name Society of Assumption Parish and the Masponock Rod and Gun Club of Milford. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with a passion for square dancing, four-wheeling, gardening, and singing and playing his guitar. High school sweethearts, Bill and Jean Nadon celebrated 67 years of marriage in 2016.

Mr. Nadon was a communicant of St. Blaise Parish (formerly of Assumption Church in South Bellingham).

Funeral will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at 8 a.m. from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 South Main St. (Route 126), Bellingham, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Blaise Church, 1158 South Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow at Sunny Plain Cemetery, Bradford, N.H. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Nadon's name to the Society for the Protection of N.H. Forests, 54 Portsmouth St., Concord, NH 03301, or the Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust, 71 Pleasant St., P.O. Box 2040, New London, NH 03257.
