William Nesbitt Obituary
He had been employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for many years. He served as a Marine Corps sergeant during the Korean War. He was an active member and past president of the Woodlawn neighborhood Association.
William is also survived by three sons, John A. (Sonia), James W. (Jackie) and Mark J. Nesbitt (Kelly); a daughter, Mary Ann Murray (Matthew) and Jennifer A. Murray (John); a sister, Ann M. Fernstrom; and 13 grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Ruth A. Salisbury and grandfather of the late Jimmy Nesbitt #12.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, March 23, at 8:30 a.m. from the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Baptist Church, 69 Quincy Ave., at 10 a.m. Graveside burial with military honors will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the St. John the Baptist Food Bank, of which he was the former director. I am so sorry for your loss. It's a very sad day. I will never forget the lessons I learned from Bill including standing up for what you believe to be the right thing to do, never compromise your integrity or honesty and always be a Champion for those less fortunate. I am so sorry for your loss! Bill was an amazing person and man. He is the one person who was a part of my life that had the highest level of integrity, honesty, and apathy for humanity. His kind heart, loyalty and devotion, and strength were just a few attributes I admired about Bill. It's a very sad day for Pawtucket to lose a Champion of the people. I know that his love and devotion to Agnes and his family will always be cherished. You are a reflection of Bill's love as he was a reflection of God's love. Rest in peace Bill.
