Winifred Roy Obituary
Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late John and Annie (Bell) Shepard she was a lifelong area resident and a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Parish.
Winifred worked as a winder for Aerovox for 30 years and later worked as a homemaker for the elderly at Preferred Health Services. She was a member of the Acushnet Senior Club and in her spare time she enjoyed gardening and sewing.
She is survived by four children, Gloria Jean Roy and her husband Normand R. Lafond of Woonsocket, RI, Patricia A. Ladeira and her husband Richard of Beaumont, CA, Dianne Roy Smith of Beaumont, CA and Susan M. Roy of Fairhaven; two brothers, Raymond Shepard of CA and Albert Shepard of GA; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Margaret, John, Jr., Joseph, Walter, and Louis Shepard.
A special Mass will be held on Sunday, January 14th at 11am at St. Paul's Church, Blackstone.
