Marvelene McGhee Obituary

Marvelene McGhee of Rockford departed this earthly life July 10, 2025. She was born January 16, 1951 in Camden, Arkansas the daughter of Charles and Ruby Lee McGhee. Marvelene lived in Rockford most of her childhood coming from Camden, Arkansas and lived 30 years in Carthage, Mississippi. She was the owner and operator of M & M Cleaning. Marvelene was a former member of Greater New Hope Baptist Church. She graduated from Auburn High School. Marvelene leaves to cherish many loving memories, two daughters, Shree (Elgia) Leigh and Dutchess McGhee; two sons, Decarles (Phyllis) McGhee and Delarnas (Lakeisha) McGhee; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Colleen McGhee; two brothers Ricky and Melvin McGhee; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends including godson, Mecos T. Hill. She was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Charles McGhee and Charles "Bubba" McGhee. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Avenue. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service..
