Takuji Sakiyama

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Takuji Sakiyama, who died on March 21, 2025, after a tragic accident in February. Takuji was born on August 16, 1958 in Niihama City, Ehime Prefecture, Japan, and he was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Dylan. He is survived by his sisters, Misae, Kayomi, and Sayuri; his wife, Julie; his two sons, Ryan and Tyler; grandson, Michael; and his chosen family, Mas, Suzuko, John, Brandyn, and Kelly. The family will miss his home-cooked meals, supportive nature, cheesy dad jokes, and passion for life. Takuji was known for his woodworking skills and love of the Green Bay Packers. He spent most of his career working for JMK Nippon where he built an entirely new family and community. He will be remembered for his generosity, easy laughter, and unbelievable stubbornness. He was surrounded by loved ones when he passed, and the family takes comfort in knowing that he was deeply cared for and supported. A funeral will be held on Saturday, March 29, at 3:00 P.M., with a visitation starting at 12:00 noon at Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory-Mulford Chapel, 4311 North Mulford Road, Loves Park, IL 61111. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org in Takuji's honor, or the GoFundMe that has been set up in his name.
