Brenda Cross Obituary

Brenda Cross

Amory – Brenda Cross, 72, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 and North Mississippi Medical Center in Amory and she began her new life in Heaven. She was born on March 29, 1952 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late W. L. Smith, Jr. and Myra Nell Prewitt Smith.

Growing up, Brenda had one sister and eventually her family moved to Mississippi from Tennessee. She graduated from Amory High School and immediately began working in the public sector, where she worked as a florist and a retail store manager. She was creative florist and made many beautiful arrangements through the years. Her outgoing personality and people skills helped her to excel at any job she set her mind to. Although she enjoyed work, nothing gave her more satisfaction in life than watching her family grow and thrive in life. Brenda loved the Lord and was blessed with a daughter, Kim, a grandson, and four great grandchildren whom she cherished.

A longtime member of Gregory Chapel Baptist Church, Brenda’s faith was evident to all who met her. She loved others as herself and was always willing to serve when she was able. Brenda loved her fellow church members whom she considered her extended family. In addition to her family and church family, she was real close to Eloise, with whom she shopped and often took trips together carrying friends and others to their appointments. Brenda could talk on the phone for hours and she always could make others smile with her joyous laugh.

There is no doubt that she will missed dearly by her family and friends. As they knew her faith in Lord was strong and steady, there is also no doubt that she is in the presence of our Holy God. All the great memories made through the years will be treasured for generations to come.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Anderson, Amory, MS; grandson, Tony Anderson (Kristy), Amory, MS; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Linda Chiles (Cecil), Pick Wick, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant twin brothers.

A Celebration of Life Service for Brenda will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 12:00 pm at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, MS with Bro. Roy McHenry officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park, Amory, MS.
