Robert Gunn Obituary

Robert W. (Bobby) Gunn, 97, passed away on April 17, 2025. He was born on October 16, 1927 in Akron, OH to the late James Albert Gunn and Clara Belle Sudduth Gunn. He was a WW II veteran. He attended Holmes Community College, where he played baseball, and received his BS and Med degrees from Mississippi State University. Bobby was retired Superintendent of Schools in Arkansas for 25 years, member of Arkansas Education Association, former member of the Lion's and Civitan's Clubs, and former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and he was a member of First United Methodist Church in Starkville. He enjoyed auctioneering. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret A. Gunn. Bobby is survived by his wife, Edna Jean Reynolds Gunn; daughter, Margaret Holzhauer (Tommy); and three step-children, Debbie Sinko, Bill Teague, and Rhonda Sharpe (Jimmy); and grandchildren, Maggie, Jordan, Chris, and CJ. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, April 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Starkville, MS.
