Edith Thomas Obituary
York - Edith H. (Ballard) Thomas, 94, transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Manor Care South in York.
Ms. Edith was born on February 21, 1924 to the late David and Beatrice (Barton) Ballard.
Ms. Edith enjoyed reading the newspaper and watching TV but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Ms. Edith leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Robert Thomas Jr., wife, Helen of Wrightsville and Barry Thomas, wife, Kim of York; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Edith was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheila Banks; a sister, Gene Ballard; and four brothers, Jack Ballard, David Ballard, Eddie Ballard and Roger Ballard.
A Home Going Celebration will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Bible Tabernacle Christian Center, 361 S. Pine St., York PA 17401 at 11 a.m. with Bishop Carl Scott, officiating. A viewing will be prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, York.
In lieu of flowers please send donations in the name of Edith Thomas to: Manor Care South Nursing Home, 200 Pauline Drive, York Pa 17402.

Dear Robert & Barry,
May the good Lord bless and keep you all in His care~ So very sorry to hear of your mother's passing.
I remember when I first met your mother, I believe it was the summer of 1964/1965. She was so nice to me and my aunt, Arlean Ballard, was very fond of her as well. When people are kind to you as a teenager, that something you never forget!
